Atrazine Regulations for Water Quality Protection

The U.S. EPA and the registrants of atrazine recently reached an agreement regarding the continued use of atrazine. This was done as a part of the reregistration process within EPA. This agreement harmonizes the labels of all atrazine products, regardless of the registrant, and sets forth the water quality conditions determining where products containing this active ingredient may be used. It also outlines monitoring programs that will be initiated to further clarify potential risks to drinking water and ecological systems. Changes to the labels of product currently in the channels of trade will take place this fall and will include the terms of this agreement. Atrazine products purchased after this time must be used according to the label - please familiarize yourself with these changes and follow all label directions.
